Happy New Year!  It is my pleasure to introduce the first Feature Friday interviewee of 2012, Tamyka Washington. This mother of six and extraordinary business coach has been recognized by BlackEnterprise.com and Black Business Women Online (myBBWO.com) for her excellent online social network that connects women entrepreneurs in addition to providing them with great tools and advice on how to grow their business.  Read on to learn more about Tamyka and how she’s helping women entrepreneurs turn their passion into profitable ventures.

Please tell us a little about your background and any the projects that you’re currently working on.
My background is in Network Marketing and I started my first business in 2002, so I could work for myself and raise my children. A few years later, I discovered Social Media; fell in love with Social Networking and the ability to connect with different people across the globe.

In 2009, I created and founded TheCEOMamma Blog and Social Network for women entrepreneurs to connect and network while offering educational tools and resources.

As my business grew, I began consulting and coaching women who have the desire to learn how to effectively use Social Media Marketing to establish a credible brand and profitable business online while working with a limited or small start-up budget.

Currently, I continue to grow my practice daily, and will be launching my Inner Circle Mentor Club for women in business, solo-preneurs and service based professionals who are ready to learn the skills needed to become business savvy and create a passion and purpose driven, freedom based business.

What advice would you give someone that wants to start a business like yours?
The advice I would give anyone wanting to start a business like mine would be to first, be clear on exactly who it is you want to serve and in what capacity. Create a plan, design a strategy and then get to work…you can learn as you go!

What is the best business advice you’ve received?
The best business advice I’ve received was to recognize early on, you can’t do it all by yourself. Even if you start off going at it alone, as soon as possible, structure your team of help to support the growth of your business.

Tell us about some of your greatest accomplishments in life.
Aside from being a mom to six amazing children, some of my greatest accomplishments include: Stepping out on faith and starting a business so I could keep my first priority of being a Mom, TheCEOMamma Network being recognized on BlackEnterprise.com as one of the Top 10 Ning Networks to Know, Developing and selling my own educational small business eBooks and eCourses, and creating a business that allows me to live my passion of helping other women, earn a profit from doing what they love!

If you could choose any mentor (money being no object), who would it be and why?
I’m not sure who I would choose but it would definitely have to be someone who shares my faith in God, who is highly successful and started their business from only a desire to achieve, and someone who is honest, values integrity and will keep it real with me while keeping me accountable to myself and to my goals.

What’s your favorite quote or mantra?
My personal mantra: Embrace the vision, Pursue my Passion & Live on Purpose.

My favorite quote is one by Steve Jobs and resonates with me greatly because of all the adversity I experienced early on from those who didn’t believe in me, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs

How do you market your business?
I use a few tried and true methods that have worked for me since day one. Content Marketing, blogging regularly and also, article marketing. Social media marketing with Facebook and Twitter are highly effective and top priority for spreading my content, along with social networking and email marketing. These are the primary strategies I use.

Where can we find more about your business?
